Hello,
We want to make several categories for a group of schools:
As admin i can upload everything, no problem. BUT
We found out that it's no problem to upload in 'user galleries', But we should want to make it more consistant:

We want to make it possible that 'registered user A' can upload to albums in 'category A' for campus A,
We want to make it possible that 'registered user B' can upload to albums in 'category B' or campus B,
We want to make it possible that 'registered user A' can upload to albums in 'category C' for campus C,
EDUGO >category Campus A> Album A1 ...A6
EDUGO >category Campus A> Album B1 ...B6

Of course, we can't make everyone admin ;-)

In the helpfile we found: The administrator can create albums in any category. Non-administrative users can only create albums in the "User galleries/Their_username"." Do we have to abort our point of view, or is there some small miracle that can be made happen?

Thanks in advance!
Geert

Uploads don't go into categories, but into albums. Subsequently, you'll need to create albums within the public categories. Then set permissions for the albums (using the album properties dialog) to allow visitors to upload to those albums. Finally make sure (on coppermine's groups page) to allow the group(s) have upload permission to public albums.
If your overall concept is based on the users creating albums in public categories and it is not an option for you to pre-create the albums (as admin), then you're stuck. As suggested in the docs, non-admins can't create albums in public categories. There is no workaround, trick, mod or similar to circumvent this. Has been asked and answered many times over - searching the board (especially the permissions sub-board) would have told you so.

Hello Karma,
Thanks a lot for the support. It gave me the light:
we just solved it in a creative way:
Our redactors ara all 'registered' and their username is the 'name of their campus'.
So in the user gallery (changed in the name of our group of schools) , we can see all the different schools (username is the name of each school).
They all upload in the the same user gallery, and so we see all the schools. In each school we have a redactor that can make his album himself, completely from scratch, and no categories anymore.
