I've been running a standalone (non-bridged) Coppermine installation next to my phpbb forums for some time now. When migrating to a new server and upgrading the Coppermine software last night, I saw the bridge controls and without researching it further beforehand, I attempted to initiate the bridge. Well, needless to say, it didn't go well. I wasn't aware that you can install a bridge with an established Gallery installation. I was able to disable the bridge, but now a lot of my user's albums are associated with the non-existent username 'Mr. X'. I did a search for this and only found one other post that was old, and nothing was resolved in that thread anyway.

Can someone tell me how to go about reestablishing my users with their albums? Thanks!

As said in this thread you'll need to import your CPG user table into phpbb. Afaik there's no script that'll do that for you. Some time ago I've written one that did the conversion smf -> coppermine (or vice versa, I can not remember). Search it in the outdated mods board and see how this works. With that I guess you should be able to come up with a solution.

If you just disable the bridge then the 'Mr.X' references should disappear.

My Coppermine tables are already included into my phpbb installation.

As for the bridge, I disabled it before I posted above....I had to. Even when logged in, whenever I clicked a link in Coppermine it would take me to my forum's index page. Before the bridge attempt, all the 'bridge' tables in my database were empty, after the bridge attempt there were entries in it, basically just the links to the forum, cookie name, etc. I tried removing all those entries and then I started getting sql error messages. (I wish I'd copied them down, but I didn't.) So just to get the galleries back up, I had to replace the table entries.

My user's albums are still associated with 'Mr. X'....and I'm thinking whatever else was done during the attempted bridge had some other side effects, as I've noticed a serious slowdown of the forum's response time.

Can anyone tell me what all would've been done to individual pages during the conversion? I'd have no problem with manually editing files to remove anything that was added to the files, if need be. I really need to get this figured out ASAP. Thanks!

Nothing is added to any files. When you disable the bridge everything just goes back as it was. Any slowdown of your forum is a coincidence. Post a direct link to an album affected in the manner you describe.
