uploading form another direcrty???

is there any way to upload pics for another directory other than
the user pics directory??

cause ATM i have the pictures else where in another directory not in the cpg folder

or will i have to upload the pics nt the userpics dir with my own folder names??

 i noticed before that it creates a thumb_, and a normal_
and the onle which i uploaded is i possibly to delte some off them>??

if you upload by ftp, your files should go into folders you create within the albums folder, not within albums/userpics.

You must not batch add pics to the userpics directory.  That directory is reserved for Coppermine only.  You may create as many folders as you wish with in the album directory and add from those folders.  You cannot add from a directory outside the album directory in Coppermine.

The thumb_ and normal_ pics are vital to Coppermine's proper operation.  You should not remove them.

so what do i do now to add the pictures.

click on batch add pictures??

Yes, click on batch add.  You should now see your new directory structure, and you clicking on one will show all pics in that directory.

Remember to select an album to put them in (something I regularly forget).

In the next version, the userpics directory will not be shown, to avoid confusion.
