Hi,

Since I don't want to overload my own hosting server with tons of pictures I decided to host the pictures somewhere else. I installed ClarkConnect (Linux distri) and configured MySQL.
If I do a telnet to: WAN-IP 3306 I can see a short sql message.
If I open a webpage and go to my WAN-IP : 3306 I get: 4 4.1.20¤PQ&gUW26,¢U*otwy{{xk-?ÿBad handshake
But this is because I don't fill in a user / pass (I think)
So it seems SQL is up and running.

I'm going to the install directory of coppermine and fill in all the fields.
At "MySQL Host" I type: WAN-IP
I also tried WAN-IP:3306

I fll in the user / name & pass etc..
But after clicking "Let's GO!" I get the following error:

Could not create a mySQL connection, please check the SQL values entered
MySQL error was : Lost connection to MySQL server during query

On Clarkconnect I don't have a webserver running so I can't test the SQL login with a simple script.

Anybody has a solution for this matter?

Thanks already!

Regards,

Dennis

This is the Coppermine support board, not the 'how to run a webserver' support board.

It has nothing to do with someone being tired or cranky. This is a support forum for coppermine. Ask your question on a site like digitalpoint.

(btw, you need to allow the server with clarkconnect access to the mysql server)
