I would like to have an extra field in the album setup (ex. Photos by: Joe Smith). This would show up below the main album title in smaller text as well as pulled into the image detail screen.

Has anyone done this already? Seems like it would useful.

See this thread for how to add extra custom fields to the pic info, http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=2526
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Thanks, but he's talking about adding custom fields to pictures. I want to add a custom field to the ALBUM setup screen. This could then be pulled into the picture detail if needed.

Example:
Album Setup Screen >>>
Title: Fair Grounds Festival
Desc: People having fun at FGF
Photographer: Joe Smith

Afaik there's no mod for this yet, so I'm moving this from "support" to "feature requests".

I managed to add 2 fields to the album page, when I edit an album and submit changes, it does sent the information to the database, but does not show in the album pages, even after I included the tags (e.g. {ALB_LOCATION} next to {ALB_DESC} .... wonder what can be wrong ?

#1: This is a very, very old thread.  (... implying that this issue is not relevant anymore.)

#2: NO SUPPORT IN FEATURE REQUESTS

Please post on the correct support board.

CPG1.4.x already comes with many more fields than previous versions, so this thread is sort of "done". There are even mods that let you add even more user-defined fields. Locking.
