This plugin will display a black-to-white bar on your gallery that visitors can use to roughly calibrate the brightness and contrast of their monitors. Usefull for photography-related sites, where details matter.
This plugin goes unsupported from my side - it is being supplied as a courtesy to end users.

The plugin can be downloaded from the cpg1.5.x branch of the plugin repository on our downloads page at sourceforge.net: http://sourceforge.net/projects/coppermine/files/Plugins/1.5.x/cpg1.5.x_plugin_monitorcalibrationbar_v1.4.zip/download
Attached to this posting is a screenshot to illustrate what the plugin does.

The plugin has been added to the plugin repository as well for possible future edits by the community - see http://coppermine.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/coppermine/branches/cpg1.5.x/plugins/monitorcalibrationbar/

The plugin could be used as an example as well how to create config pages for plugins - I have deliberately added more options to the plugin to illustrate the concept of the config page. Think of the plugin as a sort-of reference for small plugins that don't create a database table of their own to store settings - this plugin is using coppermine's config table to store three extra records.

Dutch language file attached.

Joachim Müller

Thanks for the language file contribution. I have added it to the subversion repository; will be in the next release.

Any suggestions for additional features?

Hein Traag

No additional feature suggestions yet but there is one thing to fix i think.
When you choose to place a link in the sys menu it displays the menu item icon at the right side of the menu option.

Joachim Müller

Can not replicate - looks OK on my testbed, even with the water_drop theme you used for your screenshot. Can you post a link to your testbed, i.e. is your testbed publicly available?

Joachim Müller

I have added some new features and released a new version - (download link in first posting already points to new version 1.2). New features went into SVN as well. Please un-install the plugin and re-install.

Hein Traag

Testbed is here : http://cpg15.rondvierkant.nl/

I'll download the new plugin and see what that does.

Problem fixed with 1.2. Config page looks really dummy proof now, nice job!
Would be nice if this could link with EnlargeIt.

Vey nice. I personally use this chart but I think it would take up too much room at the bottom.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Joachim Müller

Thanks for the feedback - I plan to add color bars as well. I'm trying to build them without using images at all: currently, the bars are being HTML and CSS driven only. The color bars can be done similarly, using only HTML/CSS. This makes them blend much nicer into existing sites.

In "Plugin Manager" page (pluginmgr.php) there are three "buttons" for this plugin:

  • Configure Monitor Calibration Bar plugin
  • Announcement thread
  • Monitor Calibration

The text on the button "Announcement thread" is not visible at all.

Joachim Müller

Thanks for the notification. Should be fixed in rev 7422

GauGau, your plugin seems doesn't work with my browsers(Firefox,Opera,Google Chrome) and OS (Linux/Debian). If i install the plugin my album properties icons above the thumbnails disappear, all i have is:

    * {MODIFY_ICO}
    * {PARENT_CAT_ICO}
    * {EDIT_PICS_ICO}
    * {ALBUM_MGR_ICO}

Also if i open the configiguration page of the plugin and try to check any option there, i receive this:

"There have been no change"

I don't see reason to post gallery link and login details because the problem is visible only in admin mode, André. In user mode you cant see anything and thats why i add what i see.

    * {MODIFY_ICO}
    * {PARENT_CAT_ICO}
    * {EDIT_PICS_ICO}
    * {ALBUM_MGR_ICO}

We don't care if you see that reason or not. It's a rule that is is mandatory to respect - it doesn't say "you can post a link to your gallery if you feel like it". We're not ready to argue with you about the need to do that. Either respect rules or don't post at all if you can't respect those rules. This was the last reminder for you as far as board rules are concerned - we're fed up with this: we certainly are not ready to argue about forum policies. Forcing us to repeat that silly argument is rude and selfish and leads to your requests getting ignored (at least as far as I am concerned).

We can see that you use a modified theme. Please try if the problem occurs with a theme that comes with Coppermine (i.e. the standard theme "Curve"). I just saw that post.

Hi,

my gallery is at  www.f1album.com version 1.5.8

I installed this plugin and it works if I have the "Calibration bar in pic-info section"  but if I have it in the "Calibration bar underneath intermediate image" it doesn't show . . . I removed the other plugins I was running but I get the same result.  ???

RaptorUK

Just to let you know . . . I've removed this plugin and put back the other plugins I was running.

If you want me to try it again just say and I'm happy to try it :)
