Hi fellow Coppermine Gallery Warriors,

Ive had this problem for some time now, ive tried looking for a solution through google and also on the coppermine forums, there were many solutions for very similar problems but none for this one, but perhaps i could have over looked it, there are alot of people with the "Coppermine critical error, MySQL said" but not this one i feel, please go to http://nsjedi.com/e107_plugins/cpg1410/ and look at the problem first hand...

The issue says

'Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said:'

And then nothing after the 'MySQL said:', its unusual, everyone else has a response so they can atleast start to work on the problem but with this one there is not even a starting point, so any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers

Toby :)

The e107 port goes unsupported. The outdated cpg1.4.10 goes unsupported - upgrading to the most recent stable release (currently cpg1.4.22) is mandatory.
We can't help you with such issues - it's anot a coppermine issue, but a mysql issue. Ask your webhost for support.

Hi fellow coppermine members,

As ive upgraded to the latest release of coppermine, i am now receiving this error, quite similar but now there's a starting point, only the 'config.php' points me to 'admin.php' which is all geeberish to me, lol :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

You really need to do as Joachim suggested. There is a problem with your database connection. Assuming the details in your setup (config.inc.php file) are correct then there must be something wrong with your hosting, so ask your host for help.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

  • Download "config.inc.php" from include folder.
  • Open with a text editor.
  • Change the values to fit with the actual data. (DB name, User Name, etc
  • Save it.
  • Upload to your server.
  • Try again.

Thanks to you Toblet for come back and tell us that you have solved your issue. I'm glad to hear. By the way, would you make us a favor?

The software you're using is "illegal" due to the Credit Link it's invisible by the style you selected.

Please, open your style.css file (You will find it inside the theme folder you're using.)

Search for:
footer a

And below that you will find something like this:
color:#000000;

Please, change it to: color:#FAFAFA;

In that way you're giving just a link to us as required by the license that the software you're running has.
