Do you know why i'm getting the error:

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Access denied for user 'solangek_copp1'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

?

You have either incorrect MySql details in your include/config.inc.php file or there is something wrong with your database.

If you are sure your details are correct then you will need to speak to your host.

Please use the search facility in future as this is a very common problem asked many times before.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

...especially since you failed to post what you did before you got that error.

what did i do before I got the error?  installed the gallery and thats it.

Well, you could have said so when you started your thread, as it would have been possible as well that your gallery used to work and then stopped working because of something you might have done. You would have gotten a different answer if that would have been the case. I have asked because you already have a post count bigger than one, so it would have been possible that you ask for support for an existing gallery. Anyway, as you have been around for longer, you should be aware of our board rules and forum policies (you agreed to respect them when signing up). One of them says that it's mandatory to post a link to your gallery, which you failed to do. In the future, please follow the rules to a T.

The answer is "Yes, we know why you're getting that error message: because you entered the wrong mySQL connection details into the corresponding fields on the install screen".

As suggested in countless similar threads, we can't tell you what the correct mysql details for your account are. Ask your webhost if you're not sure. To edit the mysql account data you entered improperly, use your favorite FTP application to download the file include/config.inc.php from your webspace to your client, then use a plain text editor to edit that file and enter the proper data, save your changes, finally upload the edited file to your webspace (overwriting the existing copy on your server). If you can't figure this out by yourself, ask your webhost for support.
