I have a server with 1.3.  I have another install with 1.4.?.  I want to import the old photos, but do not have a need for the users at all.

Is it possible to upgrade from 1.3 > 1.4, pull in the photos, and drop the users?

thanks!

Just for people like you we have a section in the docs we provide that explains upgrading. There's a reason why we write that documentation: we don't want to asnwer the same question over and over. The documentation comes with the package and an online copy is available as well (link at the top of this screen). Not related to uploading, moving accordingly. Please respect board rules and common sense in the future.

Wow.  You might as well have just deleted my post.  That would have been more effective.

I looked at http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#13 .... it does not answer my question.  I was just looking for some coaching.  Apparently asking for advise, or trying to see if anyone else has done what I am trying to do is against the rules.

Thanks

It all assumes that your new gallery is empty? If so you can just upgrade 1.3-1.4 as per the docs, move all the pictures to where you want them using admin tools and then delete the users. Once done, move your install to your new server.

If you just want your pictures moved to another server copy your albums folder to your desktop. Copy all the pictures you want to keep into one folder then upload them via ftp to your new gallery. Once done, use the batch add tool to add all the pictures to your new gallery.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Thank you *very* much.

That helped me out a lot.
