:-\\  ...seems somewhere in all of my configurations I must have somehow accidentally changed a feature I didn't want changed....

When I asked a friend to join/signup, just to ensure it was working smoothly, etc.. He informed me that he had a subfeature [under the @ button] of "Admin mode".. Ack!
I opened up a different browser and signed up myself, just to double check and sure enough, I was ALSO allowed Admin access, even as a regular user. I cannot see the option/window/menu to change/fix this... [just to be sure, this "friend" IS, in fact, just a regular Registered User.]

Many many thanks in advance!

Filigree

It isn't really "Admin"mode, or it shouldn't be anyway.  It is actually just his personal Admin mode for his personal galleries.

Can he access things like the Gallery Config and Admin Tool Box?

Casper

Yes, all users get an 'admin mode' link.  But normal users only get 3 links, to administer their own albums, and cannot affect the real administration.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Yes! That was it.. hehe, many thanks for the replies people, much appreciated; had me in a panic for a bit there hehe...
Thanks again!

Maybe confusing, that term. Why not call it "edit mode", and "watch" mode, or something?

Joachim Müller

in future coppermine versions, we'll get rid of the switch user mode vs admin mode for regular users. Logged in users wil permanently be in admin mode then, to avoid confusion. They will not see a link "user mode" nor "admin mode".
