Comment Notification for Pictures

I am running a community gallery where comment notification is very very important. As CPG 1.5.x does not have this feature it makes the gallery abit useless because the images uploaders do not even know somebody comment on their uploaded pictures, so they do not post again next time.. nor the one who comment receive notification of the comment just made after theirs.. so they do not even recognize the following comment even if that is a reply about their comment, so obviously they do not feel like commenting anymore next time.. The lack of this feature makes the gallery so dead....
