I have a few galleries set up w/ a video category. The WMV files play great, even behind an .htaccess hotlink protection.

I uploaded an .avi and a .mpg file to one of the galleries and they will not play.
The .avi just doesn't do anything... its like the file isn't even there.

The .mpg looks like its going to load in quicktime (which I do have installed on my computer) and then it just turns into a small quicktime logo where the video should be.

When I go to specify which media files to allow I get this error at the top of my page...  once for each album with a video file

Warning: getimagesize: Unable to open '' for reading. in /usr/home/colette/websites/colettex.com/members/gallery/index.php on line 606

and then the thumbs of all the videos including the .wmv files are small 1x1 pixel images and they won't open.

I tried three different ways of entering the file types in the Allowed movie types instead of ALL and got the same error each time... with and without the .htaccess file.

I then tried to specify all the image and video files in the Allowed image types and I got the same error... only this time for each album that i have in the gallery.

Is there something I can edit to keep this from happening and get the movie files to work?

btw... these avi and mpg files do play just fine on my hard drive and from my server when they are not located inside the gallery

It seems like you've modified something. (Provide a link.) You shouldn't have to change any settings in config, unless you want to disallow something.

The site is adult related... otherwise i would provide a link..

I did modify the displayimage.php file.. i commented out some of the image information so the url, size and a few other things wouldn't be displayed under the image...

i just uploaded a freshly extracted displayimage.php file from the zip file and it looks like its working..
the .avi files completely load before they play.. and the mpg only shows a portion of the file but i read in another thread that actually specifying the size of the movie will fix that problem.. i'm going to try and figure out that now..

Thanks.... sorry for the post when the fix was so easy...

great job on CPG btw!  I love it

Glad you got it sorted yourself.

There is no problem with providing a link to an adult site here, provided you give a good warning with it.

It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Thanks Casper...

the gallery in question is behind a password protection so I really couldn't give out the link...  :P
