Warning: imagecreatefromjpeg(): './albums/edit/mHTTP_temp_839f2ec5.jpg' is not a valid JPEG file in /var/www/html/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 202

this is the warning i received when uploading a particular picture
the picture could not be uploaded

upload pic -> browse -> selected pic -> click continue ->[successful uploads] -> click continue -> (warning appear, thunbnail showed a red 'X' -> click continue ->[The previous file could not be placed.][You have successfully placed all the files.]

2 messages were given on the same page, The previous file could not be placed. You have successfully placed all the files.
and in the end the file was not uploaded at all

anyone had this problem before ?

the pic you posted is either corrupt or it's not in rgb (cmyk instead?). I wasn't able to upload it as well. Use your favourite graphics suite on your pc to save it in another format, then it should work.

The pic is somehow corrupted.  I could not upload it in it's present form.

But by opening it in photoshop, and saving it, with no other changes, it is then ok.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

I tried opening and saving in photoshop as well
no problem with that

this pic was taken with a camera mobile phone
and all pics taken by that camera phone were unable to upload to coppermine
wonder why this is so...

anyway, this shouldn't be a big issue to most of us
