There's a real problem with the cookies related to Coppermine 1.3.2 when in
administrator mode.
If you forget to switch from admin. mode to user mode, within 24h, it's
impossible to go back to user mode.
What is more, you can actually choose the language but the default language
comes back as soon as you click on something with the mouse.

The only solution is to erase all the cookies, which is very tedious.
Can you think of another solution ?
I think the problem comes from the cookie itself.

Thank you very much,
Sincerely yours.

Casper

This is not usual, and is certainly not something most users find.

This also is not usual.  When I change language, it stays changed.

There is another way, which is to go into config and change the cookie name.  This removes all locally remembered settings, and returns everything to default.  It seems you have a problem with your browser updating cookies.

You must also remember, if you change the theme or language by typing them in the address bar, this will override the default settings, and you can change the default, but your browser will still display the one you set in the address bar, until you update your cookie.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

I'm having the same problem with mode switch. so maybe its becoming more usual?   ;)

I have a brand new installation, the switch between admin mode and user mode worked the first time I logged in but the next time I logged in after I clicked the remember me box, it no longer works.

any additional ideas? advice?

thx

did you try what Casper suggested above? Post a link and test user account (non-admin) for details.

I did a couple things and so far so good.

first I cleared all my cookies via the browser (IE) which is a one click task, don't know what the tedious thing is unless he was going into the temp internet file cache and trying to actually find the right one to remove.

then I added my site to my trusted sites list under the Security tab

and then I also set under the privacy Tab to always allow cookies from my site.

don't know which one did the trick but no problems now

thx
