an admin control panel simmilar to phpBB2 would de-clutter the screen and simplify navigation.

when in admin mode, intermediate images should be replaced with thumbnails.

Please, one feature request per post.

Why?  What benefit would it have?
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

There are no stupid questions
But there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots

reduced bandwidth (not everyone is local to thier server)/reduced load time/reduced browser memory usage

Casper

Then why go to the displayimage page at all, except rarely to check it's working ok.  just use the thumbnails page.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

to reply to your first request: the current devel version features collapsable option sections, similarly to other control panles (e.g. the one from smf). PHPBB uses frames - while this method is fast, it makes theme design a bit more complicated. Using DHTML instead should/will do the trick.

Joachim

P.S. If you would have posted only one request per thread, we could have flagged this one as "done". As you haven't, the whole thread remains open, making it harder to keep track of feature requests. I hope you can see the point of our policy to have "one issue per thread".

how stable is 4.0ß? (could/should I run it live?) (Site really hasn't launched yet anyway, so far it's just me, some friends, and family (also of friends))

yep, picked up on that last week... notice new posts only have one... ;)

dev version is 1.4 alpha and is not for production/live use. It comes with no support. Some features are not fully finished. It is only for testing now and only for advanced users.

if you can live with the fact that it doesn't come with support and you're not planning to run the page for a broader audience I'd say you could give cpg1.4 a try, as you seem to know your way around rather well. Just make sure you understand what "alpha software" in this case means...
