After the gallery was installed, do I need to erase the install.php file?
(Like I've done for the phpBB board)

Provided you have installed correctly, and the install.lock file has been created in your include folder, there is no need to remove, as it will not work.

But there is no harm in removing it. 

You can also reset the include folder back to the site default after the install is complete, as coppermine will no longer need write access to this folder.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
