I am having this problem.  I've been trying to get in for about 3 weeks now and it absolutely will not allow me to access admin at all and I DO have my browser cookies settings correct.  (I wasn't sure so I checked and sure enough it's all there...)

Any other advice?

Thanks so much in advance...

I have had exactly that problem because the server's PHP had been updated to version 5, and coppermine 1.3 doesn't work properly with PHP5.

The solution: manually convert the old style HTTP_GET_VARS to _GET and other such old style variables to new style, in the php page where the problem occurs.

You can also wait for the version 1.4 which fixes these problems.

Hope this helps...

Please post a link and a test user account.

I can't post a test user account because I can't set up the gallery to be able to do that!  I'm stuck right where I am here:

http://theuntamedscrapper.com/coppermine/index.php

When I select log in, it takes me to a screen to log in with the user name and password ( my chosen admin information when I dl'd the software) BUT the log in screen says"Warning your browser does not accept script's cookies"

How can I get passed this?

Thanks again,

I didn't see the error message, until I looked in IE. Use another browser. It worked fine in Firefox.

Untamed

yes, that's right...

I was able to get into the admin using Netscape, but I can't have function problem for new users to the site.  No one is going to be a part of something they can't upload to and participate - this is for a participatory gallery - it has to be functional for all internet users - IE inluded...

Any suggestions?

I can log in fine with IE and Opera in the multiple copies I have of the gallery. Have you tried ignoring the message and logging in?

argh. You are running Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.3.0. You should upgrade. Plus, this is the version 1.2 section.

Casper

have you checked your pc clock?  make sure it's correct.  This could also be caused if the server clock is out.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

How do I check the server clock?  And how do I determine if it's correct?  To what time zone should it be set?

Thanks again...

...    this is the version 1.2 section.

I'm sorry - it says I'm in CPG 1.3 Standalone Support and now I'm just really confused...

Windows XP has a tab for internet time to sync with a time server.

This was in section 1.2 so I moved it here. Notice the thread you replied to is no longer above your post.

Easiest way is to double-click the time in the lower-right hand corner in the systray

Untamed

I did that and it synched with time.windows.com.  Is that the server you suggest?

this is a very lengthy discussion about windows basics ::)

I"m very sorry it's taking this long - I had already synchronized my time in the Control Panel (which i discovered was the same the time window in the systray...)

I apologize for not being a whiz at this but I don't think I'm a complete amateur either - and I never professed to be a techie...

Apparently I'm not the only one who has had these difficulties.  Others have had the same issues with Internet Explorer as evidenced by the posts in this discussion.  I can access in Netscape and others have accessed using Firefox and Opera but I can't expect people (my own designers included) to not be able to access the gallery in IE as it is the more universally used browser of my users.

Untamed is a new site but my experience is not just on this new site - I've been administrating sites for over two years now and have never experienced this issue...

I've done what I can where I can and now cannot correct this - believe me, it's equally as frustrating for me as my original site is nearing d-day (where we will no longer have access) and I must get the new gallery up and operational to be able to merge what I can.  Please be assured - I'm not trying to cause problems... only rectify one others seem to be having as well...

Your own staff has had difficulty with this issue, :(  Please, help...

Thanks again -
