Okay I goit it downloaded and unpacked and uploaded BUT I have no clue what to do after that. I tried the tutorial section on the site but that wasnt much help.
So:
-How do I create my gallery?
-Wjat else do I have to do?

Nibbler

Go to the url where you uploaded coppermine and run install.php.

Jessica

I used WS_FTP to upload it to my site??? I followed the tutorial on the Coppermine main page. So, do i go to my server site and enter install.php?? Or to WS_FTP?

Casper

It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Jessica

Thats where I'm getting lost.
I get the: http://yoursite.com/
BUT where do I find the "your_coppermine_folder".
is it on my WS_FTP?? Or on my computer?? I'm just lost and I'm really trying to learn how to use this program.

neotwo

the "your_coppermine_folder" is a giving example. It could be anything you want it to be

say that the folder that you upload all the coppermine folder is "gallery"
then http://www.yoursite.com/gallery/install.php

you understand now?

Jessica

Ok thanks. I did that and it just brought me to "Page cannot be displayed."
I guess I'll just play with it and try to figure it out. Sorry to bug ya guys...BUt thanks for all your help.

Casper

Yes, as neotwo said, it is an example to represent the name of the folder you put the coppermine files in on the server.  You may have called it coppermine, or cpg, or pics, or whatever.

So if your website is http://www.jessica.com and you put the coppermine files in a folder called gallery, then you should use your browser to go to http://www.jessica.com/gallery/install.php

Make sure before you do, that you have your database details ready, as you will need them to do the install.
