ask one of them to actually try to do it.  or test it yourself when logged in not as admin.

it may seem like they can edit the name, but it does not change.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Here's where I submitted a test comment, so you can delete:
http://www.neeth.info/galerija/displayimage.php?pos=-4634

When I tried to edit the comment (and name), I got a 500 error.

In my own gallery, when I change the name and hit OK, and go back, the name had not changed.

This means you have an out of date file, as this was changed some time ago (before 1.3.2), which removed the database being updated by this.

It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

neeth

and what i need to do ???

my galery is 1.3.2

where to find that file ?

When you updated, at least 1 file must not have been changed, probably due to your ftp program.

I suggest you get a new copy of version 1.3.2, and replace all the files(except the albums folder and the include/config.inc.php, include/install.lock and anycontent.php files), making sure they are replaced.

When done, run update.php once more.

Check the line "CVS version" at the beginning of your db_input.php file
if it's not "v 1.8 ", download the latest stable one here

I tried again and for some reason, was able to change the nick in my gallery. I had db_input.php v 1.1. So I downloaded v 1.8, ran update.php and I can still edit the nick.

weird..you were in user or admin mode? ( cause in admin mode you're allowed to change the author's name )

Tranz

ah, that was the difference.  :-[ Earlier, I was testing as a regular user. When I tried again, I used my usual admin account. Good call, nol33t. :)

Joachim Müller

of course the admin can change everything ;)
