I've installed a local webserver (see my profile) and Coppermine 1.3.2 to test it before I will put it on my online webserver.
I made an album and have uploaded some pictures in it. This works all very nice.

After that I viewed the album and all the pictures in it. The first time I viewed them the picture hit counter was set to 1.
But when I viewed them a few more times, the picture hit counter stays 1 instead of increasing to higher numbers.

It seems that this doesn't work...

Has anyone a suggestion how to solve this problem?

My guess is you just have to wait a little longer btween the "hits" to your local server or make sure you actually click a button to go back rather than use "back" in your browser. I have a similar setup for testing and it works just fine.

Not that it matters but I'm using Apache 1.3, MySQL 4.1 and PHP 4.3.10.

I can wait longer and use the buttons, but nothing changes at all  :(
I'm using Apache 2.0.49 / PHP 4.3.7 / MySQL 4.0.18.
I view the pictures in Coppermine on the server (localhost) itself. Can it make a difference if I view the pictures with another computer?

I really hope that there's a solution for this problem, because I like Coppermine very much and intend to use it on my online server.

If you are logged in as an admin, you are not increasing the hit counters, as that would artificially inflate the numbers.

Make sure you log out and use a test account to test the hit counters.

I know this is true of CPG 1.4 but my local install of 1.3.2 counts admin-logged hits. Weird.

There is a hack to not count admin hits. It's not built-in in 1.3x

I also thought about the user-issue, i'll try it.

For some reason the numbers are changing sometimes, but I don't know how and why...

Can you tell me more about the hack?

when i display an image the hit counter only counts for 1 times only ,when i refreshed it  does not work !  I tried what u said to other users : logout from admin, reseted counter all but not effected ? how can i solve it?

in 1.32 admin hits get counted too... if you've visited an image and which one is stored in the cookie. So you'lll have to delete the cookie, login again and bingo, hitcounter+1

tomrock

I don't think there's really anything to solve here. If you want to see the hits go up, delete the cookie the server sends you between each view and they'll go up. Or view from different computers -- each one will count.

But I'm pretty sure that repeatedly viewing the same picture from the same computer won't increment the count.
