is there a faster way to organize your categories than moving them up one at a time.   i was just wondering if that maybe there was a hack somewhere that would be a faster way to say alphabetize your categories.

It's a config setting  in the next version, 1.4. 
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
