Thought I'd share my own little derivation of the coppermine gallery. I'm using it to support a shared photo blog between my buddy and I. I altered the ssi file a lot. Next I'd need to write up the code for archives and stuff like that. But what do you think?

@DefenceTalk.com: After Sgt. Gilbert posted I went to your site and was given a forbidden error message.  Glad to see it's been resolved, whatever the issue was.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

There are no stupid questions
But there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots

Well my whole site is based on my  Coppermine Gallery.
The site contains over 200 space wallpapers I created from NASA images as well as a few other sources.

Let me know what you guys think!

The site can be found here:  www.finalfrontier.za.net

I'm not good at modifying themes or creating new ones.  So if there's somebody out there that wants to help me out, let me know!

Hey all, not sure where this would normally go as never bothered to do this before. :-)

Anyway, I hope your all happy and well! I have been using coppermine for a good year or two now, but have never normally dont much in the way of changing the look etc yadda yadda yadda

Well this time im on a big project of my own and needed it to fit in with my site just right so here is what i have

Head over to http://www.sunnymonkey.com and go to the gallery area!

I really want your feedback on the design, would you like and dont like. And maybe what I could add or remove to make it better? The css is a bit dodgy as I bodged quite a bit of it, but I think it works pretty well. Seems to show up fine in IE and FireFox :-)

I look forward to your comments, and I really hope that people may even register and put up some of their own images to get things rolling :-)

Many thanks all!

Dave

@itrends/Dave: I quite like the design (especially the rounded corners and the drop shadow). The font size of the css class main-text2 doesn't match the overall look though - I suggest you reduce it (especially when comparing to the "regular" tableh1 font size. As the gallery will probably be visited much more often than the "about" section I suggest you swap the background colors (just personal taste though), I prefer the brownish background of the about section over the blue-green gallery background - it gives a warmer look to the site (especially as the site has the name "sunny" in it). The black text over the rating graphics is barely visible on the dark background ("Rate this file  (current rating : 0 / 5 with 2 votes)") - I suggest you either change the background or the font color. The rating graphics need attention too imo - they look as if they didn't belong to the rest of the theme (hey, in fact they don't - they're out of the box) - would make the site look more complete if you had some rounded squares without a star in it - similar to http://www.sunnymonkey.com/snug/images/box-D.jpg , just smaller.
Good work though - thumbs up.

I used simplified version of Hardwire theme.

I've switched to Reynolds' theme, edited the layout a fair bit to make it more asthetic (imo, at least), added an introduction to the template (actually this still isn't perfect because the introduction stays with the page.. I shall experiment with anycontent & figure out how to fix this.

Added some personal links into the menu...

Goals I have but cannot figure out yet:

1) Have a page that generates the top 5 photos of the week by views
2) Have a column for 'photos viewed' statistics next to categories & albums to see what really gets the most views.
3) Have photos that can cross-reference.. but I understand that isn't possible yet.

edit: Oh yeah, here's the link: http://www.madeinbc.ca/anvil

@ Anvil,

so where is this site.  This thread is so others can see them  ;D

You should definately use anycontent.php to add intros etc you only want on the first page.

It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here
