Hi guys. I've looked all over the web to find a program like Coppermine, and I was very excited to get it installed on my server.

I was very dissapointed when I realized installing it probably requires more knowledge than I currently have.

I run install.php but when I come to the screen where I need to put in the following information, I am clueless:

MySQL Host
(localhost is usually OK)
MySQL Database Name
MySQL Username
MySQL Password

I have tried to create a database on my server and then put that information into these fields, but I keep getting the following access denied message:

"MySQL error was : Access denied for user: 'asdasd@localhost' (Using password: YES)"

I've made sure the permissions and user settings for the database I've created are accurate.

My server uses cPanel X and I'm attempting at adding the database through their MySQL section in cPanel.

If anybody could take the time to help out a newbie, or point me in  the direction of a FAQ or help file, it would be very much appreciated!

When you created the database, did you actually specify 'asdasd' as a user.  Check this first.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Are you sure that the username, password and database name you are entering are correct? How did you created the database?

And I have similar problem.

MySQL error was : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
I got this when I write to MySQL Host word localhost.

But when i write my host server url 'allhyper.com' i got this:
MySQL error was : Access denied for user: 'miupar@allhyper.com' (Using password: YES)

What is wrong?
