I recently upgraded to 1.4 and had the usual problems becuase I am using a cutom theme (Kubrick).  I started making the mods on the Theme Upgrade page but now halfway through, it looks like a lot of steps (and based on the output so far, I'm not convinced it's going to work).

As an alternate, I tried the temporary theme method passing the theme thru the URL.  When I do that, the gallery displays fine, but I still can't log in.

FYI, in reading thru the forum, I saw a refernce to some kind of db_update script, which I ran.  The output showed a bunch of added fields.

Any suggestiosn for getting this back under control?

If not, is there a way to export the photos so  can start with a fresh install?

If the reason you can't login is because you are getting theme 'template errors', then you can get on by adding this to the end of your gallery url;

?theme=classic

This will then work normally.  Of course, for this to work, you have to have the classic theme in your themes folder, correctly updated.

Note also, this just affects you, as it is cookie based.  Once you have gone into your config and changed the theme to what you want, you need to correct your cookie, by doing the same as above but with 'theme=default'.

Otherwise you will be stuck in classic.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Thanks for the quick response ;D -- it was so quick it came before I tried using a temporary theme (similar to your suggestion) and modified my post.

Any other suggestions?

Is your gallery bridged?
If not, have you tried deleting your cookie and trying again?

No bridges -- standalone as a redirected subdomain (sweetman.us/pix).

I tried clearing cookies under Coppermine and the cpg cookies under my domain, same problem.  I also tried using MSIE instead of my usual Mozilla, but no luck.

For those keeping track, I found a way in.  I went into the db through MySQLAdmin and saw that in this version the passwords are not encrypted, so I just changes it. Voila!

I am having the same problem.

how did you do that? I can see users' password too. how can I encrypte them?
Thank you!

if your coppermine gallery is up and running, go to coppermine's config - there's an option to encrypt the passwords (there's no way back though to unencrypted passwords - once you enable encryption, you have to live with it).
