I have problems wtih my hosting - lunarpages.com
I use gallery Coppermine 1.42 wtih more than 20000 pictures. The photos are with 500pix. and size 50-90kb.

http://www.sportnitanci.com/webga/index.php

This is the mesaage that I receive:

Your account is utilizing excessive resources, causing a significant
degradation of services on the server. This is a shared environment and we
can not allow one user to utilize the majority of the resources on a server
as it affects all users adversely. Because of this, you have been
temporarily moved to an abuse server. A detail of the problem is shown
below:

sport13 sportnitanci.com        4.56    1.24    0.3
Top Process     %CPU 46.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 43.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 41.0       /usr/bin/php

Ticket Subject : sportnitanci.com - moved to abuse

Average CPU     2.55
Average MEM     0.44
Average SQL     0.3
Top Process     %CPU 65.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 59.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 51.0       /usr/bin/php

from 23.03.06 again
Here are your usage statistics for 3/23
sportnitanci.com        2.41    0.25    0.2
Top Process     %CPU 54.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 44.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 43.0       [php ]

We moved you to Sputnik first to solve the issue of the degraded service on
your normal shared server and second as a courtesy in order to prevent any
downtime on your site
to allow you time to rectify the situation. Currently, your site is not
suitable for a shared hosting environment.

Abuse servers are not production servers and are not guaranteed to run in the
same
manner as your old server nor will it support all functions you may have.
This is a transitional server only and is not intended to be a permanent
placement. Please make a decision on how you would like to proceed within
seven (7) days. After seven (7) days, your account will be suspended if no
other arrangements are made.

Please note that the above mentioned resource usage is due to PHP processing.

Since we do not have the exact scripts to provide (since the manner in which

PHP scripts are provided on the server only shows the username and not the
script name causing the high usage), you would need to review your account
for scripts that may be the cause. Please check scripts such as forums, blogs,

content management systems, and galleries as these are especially likely to
create high usage.

Please note that the acceptable usage range for shuttle and voyager plans is

1.0% average %CPU or less, 1.0% average %Memory or less and Top Processes
below 20%.

I remove everithing that can use more CPU...like random images, top rated, most viewed, last viewed...but without progress..

Before 1 month I have 19000 pictures with random images...and I don't have problems with hosting??
I have 2000-3000 max.opened picures every day.

Please help me..how I can solve this problem.. :-\

Best regards

are you by chance using watermarking? Post a link to your site.

krp

link:

http://www.sportnitanci.com/webga/index.php

logo on the pictures (www.sportnitanci.com) in .jpg format is created before uploading to the server.

I thing that I don't have watermark, activated in Coppermine gallery.

then I have only two recommendations: remove the surplus language files from the cpg1.3.x package, and upgrade to the most recent stable cpg1.4.4

Hi,

after update from 1.42 to 1.44 again the same problem...:

Reply:
Here is your current usage:

sportnitanci.com        2.37    0.57    0.3
Top Process     %CPU 33.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 20.0       /usr/bin/php
Top Process     %CPU 17.5       /usr/bin/php

The first number is your % of CPU usage.  That number should be below 1.  Your
top process is also over the 20% guideline.  We will continue to monitor you on
sputnik until you have made sufficient modifications to the code as to bring
you within limits.

Contact us for a further usage update or if you have any other questions.

What can I do?

I am using the same problem on site www.b4uphotos.com my current hosting provider says that this site will be suspended soon and its a warning as my site is using very very much resources of server.

To support team members do have a idea how to reduce that ?

Stramm

don't display the number of comments (an extra query per thumb)

every gimmick you enable costs CPU (the onlinestats too), a last possibility is to disable (coding needed) the statistics (16531 files in 789 albums and 66 categories with 285 comments viewed 201973 times)
I've experimented with that some time ago and it did well on huge galleries

however I've seen that only 10 guys were online when I visited your site. That's not much. If your host complains with that few visitors you should look for a better one. My old gallery usually showed 100+ users online (set 15 min) and I didn't have any problem with the load. And the gallery was only a small part of the traffic the server pushed (in addition to the gallery 5-7mbps html and a few other scripts).
