Hi, I'm using CPG 148. After being hacked I setup CPG from scratch and tried to avoid being hacked again (allways use latest version of CPG, no guest upload, etc). This goes well I think (and hope for the future  :D).

But for the latest month or so, I'm being bombarded with spam through the comments function.
It seems to me that this is an automated procedure; always the same picture used, , but different (p*rn*graphic) messages and ip's. I tried to ban the IP's, but this is no solution (the spam seems to originate from Italy).

Anyone experiencing the same trouble, or know what to do against this?
I disabled the comments function for now, but a workaround would be nice.

Kind regards, Peter

Banning spammers is not an option (as Abbas suggested) - they will always find methods to circumvent bans (e.g. by spoofing IP addresses). Either disable anonymous comments, use the mod Abbas refered to or use the Akismet mod.

Hi Abbas, thank you for the tip.
I searched the forum earlier and found another one (the Akismet methode), that works with the Api key(!?).
Now waiting to see if that works.

But to be honest, I like yours better, so maybe I'll change to that afterall.
Thanks for quick replying!

To GauGau: our replies crossed while typing my answer.
Hopefully the Akismet methode works. I'll let you know. Thanks!
