I'm attempting to set Coppermine up on a Go Daddy hosting account.  I created a database, uploaded everything, but when I try to go to the install page, its not showing up.  I know phpbb has problems with Go Daddy, but I've read articles that say if you switch the plan over to Linux, phpbb should work fine.  So that's what I've done (thinking maybe its the same) but its still not working.  I'm going to give it some time to see if the change finalizes and then maybe it will work later.

Does anyone know anything about and problems Coppermine has with Go Daddy hosting, or any fixes?

Thanks

Try searching before posting questions. A lot of questions have already been answered. Search with the keyword GoDaddy and you will find lots of hits.

Well first off, I'm not a forum noob  ;)  I did search before posting.  I searched for "Go Daddy" (which is actually what the name of the company is) and found no results (now the only thing that comes up is my post).

But after searching for "GoDaddy", there is a lot of stuff.  However a lot of it is either unsolved/or seemingly unrelated to my problem.

To be clear, I'm not using Go Daddy's instalation, I'm attempting to set this up the same way the FAQ on this website says to.  It appears that something happend when uploading though, because I tried re-uploading all of the files and now the installation page is showing properly.  Then I got the same mysql error that everyone else gets with Go Daddy...

But I figured something out (for the future) the hostname cannot be "localhost" it has to be h41mysql29.secureserver.net (for now) this may change in the future, but people need to be aware that with Go Daddy, leaving localhost probly will cause problems.

Thanks

Thanks for coming back and sharing the solution. That's the kind of thing that supporters here can't come up with and thus need help from people like you.
