G'day

I would like to bridge two coppermine installs so they share the same user database. Amm because I want two galleries one image only and the other video only.

At the moment with one gallery i havent yet worked out way soo only videos in specific albums and images in others ect.

So im thinking two galleries better and cleaner.

Is this possible?

Cheers

Sami

Install  two galleries with one database (different table prefix)
‍I don't answer to PM with support question

so that would work yeah? and users would be shared between both installs of coppermine?? I would have thought it would still have two user databases so registration for both?

Stramm

if you want two or more CPGs share the same user table but have different content then you may want to setup a bbs and bridge the CPGs to that bbs. User management is done by the bbs and each CPG's taking care of its own content

yeh that could work, i don't particularly want a forum but i suppose I could hace nothing on the forum and just have it for registrations.

if theres any other way to go that would be better but this could work. what would be the recommended forum to use with best bridging?

cheers

Thank YOU very much!

I got it all working fine now and very happy with it.

Would you still advise not to change the cookies then?

Is there anyway they can both share the same cookies for seem less integration.

Cheers again ;)

Joachim Müller

Sharing cookies is not a bright idea: using the cookies, some user information in relation to the pics (e.g. favorites) is being stored. As the pic id between the two galleries will differ, sharing cookies would result in "funny" behavior of some features.
