Hey, I'm trying to install the gallery for my friend, on the same server. Is this possible?
I keep getting this error on the installation page: http://www.toolate.org/~jeanius/photos/install.php

I have deleted the lock file, although it doesn't appear in the error.

We're both different web users.

Um, I don't know what other information I can give you..

I installed everything in the zip and chmoded the include and album folders.

Thanks for any help you can provide! :)

There should be no reason you cannot put several coppermine installs on the same server.  They can even use the same database, but the table prefix's will have to be different.

They also need t be in different directories, such as, home/coppermine for you, and home/cpg for your friend.

Have you just copied the files from one install into the other?  If you have, you will need to delete the install.lock, and the config.inc.php will be overwritten with the correct details.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

I uploaded all the files directly from the zip (after extracting them, of course) and then chmoded it.

I deleted the install.lock file from MY include directory before, but still no luck.

My gallery is @ http://www.toolate.org/~photobooth
and it is working perfectly and the installation was a BREEZE.

Any other explanations? :?

Oh, and what tables need to be changed?

Could really use the help.. :\

Are you attempting to use the same database?

If so, what have you set the table prefix too?

Have you actually put the two installations in different folders?

Did you download the zip from this site?

Did you look to see if there was an install.lock file in the distribution after you opened it?

Links to your gallery, the friends gallery, etc. would be good.  The devil is the details.

Are you attempting to use the same database? So far, yes. I haven't even been able to install ANYTHING yet through the install.php page though.

If so, what have you set the table prefix too? What is the table prefix? Everything is in the default state as of now.

Have you actually put the two installations in different folders? Yes, they are in two different folders. Under two different web users to be exact.

Did you download the zip from this site? Yep, from the site. So, I unzipped everything and uploaded everything to the site.

Did you look to see if there was an install.lock file in the distribution after you opened it? I've deleted the install.lock file from MY gallery and there is no such animal in my friends.

Links to your gallery, the friends gallery, etc. would be good.  The devil is the details.

My gallery: http://www.toolate.org/~photobooth
Friends gallery: http://www.toolate.org/~jeanius/photos

You can see the problem lies on my friends install.php page
http://www.toolate.org/~jeanius/photos/install.php

Thank you sooo much for any help! It is GREATLY appreciated. :D:D

seems to me like you changed files on your frind's install where you shouldn't have, or the files are corrupt. Since your friends install isn't up-and-running anyway, delete everything from your friend's coppermine folder, get a fresh coppermine package from the download page, unzip it, upload it by ftp (make sure to use the correct ftp mode - 'auto' is fine for most setups) and try to run the installer again. The table prefix has to be entered on the installer page - make sure to use a different prefix than you did on your install (default is "cpg11d_").
