Files not showing up in batch add

I have my files uploaded Via FTP to my gallery, I have added Files from other directories and managed to batch add them, but when I go into this particular directory, all I see is 'up one level' and no files are listed to add, this is the only directory that does this, and I have tried to remove the files from my FTP and readd them but to no avail I have even Re archived them and readded them and that didnt help either, I am supposed to be launching the new gallery soon, and would like to be able to fix this problem

Ok forgive my idiocy, I know how to post a regular link, but how do I link to a folder?  and the file (its a compressed media file) is in the smart FTP I am not sure how to post a link to that either, I am fairly new to this in terms of coppermine, and am just learning the fine art of running a *real* website rather than a 'plug in the values and we create the forum for you' message board...

If your gallery resides at http://yoursite.tld/your_coppermine_folder/, let's assume that you used the default name for the albums folder (which is "albums") and that you created a sub-folder named "holiday". A link to that folder would be http://yoursite.tld/your_coppermine_folder/albums/holiday/. Let's assume that one of the files that you uploaded into that folder "holiday" was "my_pic.jpg". A deep link to that pic would be http://yoursite.tld/your_coppermine_folder/albums/holiday/my_pic.jpg

Ok I know that I started this post almost a month ago, but then miraculously it seemed to fix itself ... but now it is happening again,

I have a tester account set up,
To keep it simple it is
UN:  tester
PW:  tester

my website is www.tarnishedmedia.org, and the gallery is at  http://www.tarnishedmedia.org/coppermine/


THIS is the directory when I go to batch add (taken from the batch add page):
/home/content/R/r/o/Rrob254/html/tarnishedmedia/coppermine/albums/clips/Roswell/Liz & Kyle/
but instead of listing the clips to be added all it says is "up one level"

the link to the album is:
http://www.tarnishedmedia.org/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=95



But I am not sure if that is what you mean by the folder location, and none of these look like the example you provided...unfortunately when I try and figure out that URL i get a page cannot be displayed error.

UPDATE:

i didnt know how to correct my last post, but after updating my own thread I have noticed that some others have had similar issues which were corrected by removing spaces in the folder names so I did that, and it worked!! so thank you for all the help you provide us all with and all the patience you have for those of us who would otherwise be hopeless ( i fully acknowledge being in that category)

That's why we asked for a link to the file you wanted to batch add. For folder and filenames please don't use spaces and special chars (eg. &)

That's an absolute path, not a link (aka URL). Corresponding link to that folder would be http://www.tarnishedmedia.org/coppermine/albums/clips/Roswell/Liz%20&%20Kyle/ (which doesn't exist in your case).

However, as Stramm suggested: don't use spaces in folder names. Don't use capitalization. And don't use special chars, especially not the ampersand (&), which has a special meaning in URLs.
It's not surprising that batch-add doesn't work if you don't respect webserver basics: organize your folders and files in a way that makes sense and is websafe. If you don't, you'll run into issues such as yours.

You should have resolved your thread if it worked then (for the benefit of others with similar issues). There usually is no such thing as a "miracle cure". Supporters are reluctant to look into your issues if you don't show respect; one way of showing respect is resolving your threads - just quitting and leaving this thread open is a selfish act. Now you return with the same issues you had before...

Regular users don't have the privilege to edit their postings here. We were forced to set up this policy because users misbehaved in the past and rendered their threads useless by editing their postings out once they were solved.
