Hello,

I want to upload my pictures with XP Web Publishing Wizard, but there's something wrong and I can't do what I want.

I have followed all these steps (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#xp) and when I try to upload the pictures it won't show nothing more than MSN Groups, as you can see here - [Edit GauGau] Replaced hotlinked image by attachment [/Edit]

I have read the "Upload troubleshooting" as well, but it doesn't work.

There's something wrong here but I can't see what it is!

I would appreciate some help.
Thanks in advance.

What is "doesn't work" suppossed to mean? ::) The upload troubleshooting clearly says what you need to do when asking for support on upload issues: you need to post a link to your gallery and a non-admin test user account, with the suggested settings in place. Re-read the upload troubleshooting section and do exactly as suggested.

TeresaBloom

Okay sorry ... maybe I didn't understand something (English is not my mother language and I still have troubles to understand some things ...).

This is my gallery: http://fansites.hollywood.com/~bloomin-fantasy/fotos/index.php
What do you mean with "a non-admin test user account"? Do I have to register a new user and give you the info?

Joachim Müller

TeresaBloom

Okay ... I did register a new user:

User: testuser
Pass: test

What to do now?

Joachim Müller

The test user account doesn't have upload privileges, so what should we use it for? Again: RTFM, particularly the "upload troubleshooting" section and the section "asking for support on upload issues"! ::)

TeresaBloom

I have read "Using Windows XP Web Publishing Wizard with Coppermine", "Upload troubleshooting", "Asking for support on upload issues" and "Error messages", I've done everything it's asked to do, and I still have no idea why I can't upload the pics ...

just_some_guy

Yes, but you need to make the test user account be able to upload files, then the supporters may be able to find the problem, entiendo? habla español, si?

But I've done that already!

http uploads work as expected, see http://fansites.hollywood.com/~bloomin-fantasy/fotos/displayimage.php?pos=-661
Don't behave like a jerk - the test user account didn't have upload privileges in the first place. After changing permissions, you should have told us so.

TeresaBloom

Okay, I'm sorry ...
But my problem is not with the html uploads, it's the XP web publisher (as I said in my 1st post).

TeresaBloom

I don't know if I should post this here or in another place, but something happened since I posted this thread. ???

I uploaded some photos on Friday with a big size (with the html upload) and it was everything working fine.
Then I changed some things (asked in the "Upload troubleshooting") and posted this thread.
Yesterday I tried to upload some photos (with like 800kb) and it gave me an error page (like those 404 not found pages). It just let me upload small photos.
I didn't know if it was a problem of the gallery of a problem with my pc, so today I asked a friend to upload the photo I've been trying to upload since yesterday with my account, and she can't upload it as well.
She told me that in the Debug Info there was this message:
"Script executado com falta de parâmentos.
Ficheiro: /mnt/data/var/www/vhosts/fansites.hollywood.com/web_users/bloomin-fantasy/fotos/db_input.php - Linha: 58 "

Sorry it's in Portuguese, but I hope you understand. I couldn't see it because I didn't get that message when trying to upload the photo because I always get that 404 error page.

She also sent me the Debug Info. I think you can see it as well, but here it is anyway.
I'd like to know what's wrong. And if you need me to do anything more, just ask.

TeresaBloom

Can anyone help, please?

I have read this thread (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=49561.0). It seems to be the same problem as mine, but the error message isn't the same... I'm confused, so I'd appreciate some help.

Joachim Müller

Can't help you further with this - I don't have Windows XP. Can someone else test-drive the site using the XP Publisher please?

Might be because your gallery has no name or description. Try setting one.

Ah so that was the problem... Thanks alot! :)

Well, I can now upload photos with the XP Web Publisher but only small ones. If I try to upload a really big one it says that an error was found, and that it can be a server problem or an Internet connection problem. Internet's working fine...

The html upload still doesn't work. I can only upload small photos aswell.

Joachim Müller

Marking your thread accordingly - your initial issue got solved. If you can't upload larger images, then some restrictions on your webserver (imposed by your webhost) might apply. Read up the sticky thread on the forum and the documentation for an explanation on those restrictions and what you could possibly do to circumvent them.
