New TOKEN under medium image

[kjetil]

Hello!
I need some help to solve this one. I want to put either the username, or even better, the IPTC-copyright right under the medium image. I found out how to get pure text by this topic; http://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/index.php?topic=49238.0 but it doesnt fit my needs. How should I do this. I tried searching and reading manuals.
My guess is that I would have to create a new placeholder for this information but how to do it?? My PHP skills is very limited..
We have a testsite with some images set up at http://www.suldalfoto.no/ARKIV You can see where I want the output to be: {USER_name}

Thanks

Post the code you have so far.

[kjetil]

11 minutes.. you are fast

The code is from Frantz answer in http://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/index.php?topic=49238.0

I just copied and pasted this one into my theme.php. Then I tried to find how to insert the Iptc-copyright or user_name. I failed. But I learned quite a bit on the road..

Frantz's code:

Code Select Expand

// HTML template for intermediate image display
if (!isset($template_display_media)) { //{THEMES}
$template_display_media = <<<EOT
        <tr>
                <td align="center" class="display_media" nowrap="nowrap">
                        <table cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0" class="imageborder">
                                <tr>
                                        <td align="center">
                                                {IMAGE}

                                        </td>
                                </tr>
                        </table>
                </td></tr>
                <tr><td>
                                                <table width="100%" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0" class="tableb">
                                <tr>
                                        <td align="center">

                                                {ADMIN_MENU}
                                        </td>
                                </tr>
                        </table>

<!-- BEGIN img_desc -->
                        <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tableb" width="100%">
<!-- BEGIN title -->
                                <tr>
                                        <td class="tableb"><center><b>
                                                {TITLE}
                                        </b></center></td>
                                </tr>
<!-- END title -->
<!-- BEGIN caption -->
                                <tr>
                                        <td class="tableb"><center>
                                                {CAPTION}
                                        </center></td>
                                </tr>
<!-- END caption -->
                        </table>
<!-- END img_desc -->
                </td>
        </tr>

EOT;
}  //{THEMES}

It would be fun if you gave me an answer that I learned something from..

Thx
Kjetil

OK then.

The template you are modifying is $template_display_media, so we open themes/sample/theme.php and look for where that template is being evaluated and find where the placeholders are being replaced. That is here:

Code Select Expand

    $params = array('{CELL_HEIGHT}' => '100',
        '{IMAGE}' => $CURRENT_PIC_DATA['header'].$CURRENT_PIC_DATA['html'].$CURRENT_PIC_DATA['footer'],
        '{ADMIN_MENU}' => $CURRENT_PIC_DATA['menu'],
        '{TITLE}' => bb_decode($CURRENT_PIC_DATA['title']),
        '{CAPTION}' => bb_decode($CURRENT_PIC_DATA['caption']),
        );

    return template_eval($template_display_media, $params);

We need to copy the entire function containing that code into our custom theme.php.

Then we add a new line of code to our copy to process the placeholder tag we added

Code Select Expand

    $params = array('{CELL_HEIGHT}' => '100',
        '{IMAGE}' => $CURRENT_PIC_DATA['header'].$CURRENT_PIC_DATA['html'].$CURRENT_PIC_DATA['footer'],
        '{ADMIN_MENU}' => $CURRENT_PIC_DATA['menu'],
        '{TITLE}' => bb_decode($CURRENT_PIC_DATA['title']),
        '{CAPTION}' => bb_decode($CURRENT_PIC_DATA['caption']),
        '{USER_NAME}' => $CURRENT_PIC_DATA['owner_name'], // added: display user name in intermediate view
        );

So we are replacing {USER_NAME} with the owner_name of the picture.

[kjetil]

stupid question i guess. But where is the code going? Do I paste it inside the table?
Or is it a global thing..

[Nibbler]

What table? You add this code into your theme.php

Code Select Expand
