Have updated to 1.4.17 today, but from having no previous problems uploading files, I now get this error message:

The file 'albums/userpics/10001/***.jpg' can't be inserted in the album

Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image

Have enabled the debug info and tried all the suggestions in the upload problem docs, without luck.

Thanks

Set permissions on the albums folder and everything within it as suggested in the docs. The user the webserver runs under needs write permissions.

Have set permissions for the Album folder and it's subfolders to 777, but still getting the same error message.

Very good! It solved my issues as well, I can't believe I used 2 days to figure this out!

Folks,

A very useful thread - it has also solved my upload problems as well. Many thanks for posting your advice, and I wish I'd found this thread last week when the problem first happened!
