Patching CPG 14.18 with include/functions.inc.php

Hallo!
I have patched my modded cpg 14.18 changing include/functions.inc.php with a patched one.
Everything seems working, except I now get a {log-in form} tag instead of the corresponding field.

Would you suggest to upgrade? or there is a way to correct this?

check function load_template() if patching has overwritten modpack related code

And upgrade to 1.4.19
