[Closed]: Newly uploaded images cannot be deleted.

Hello,

I have this error coming in when I try to delete one or all of the pictures in an album:

Directory 'albums/arjuna/chris hawken/' is not writable, files can't be deleted.

(I also get the same error when I try to simply delete the entire album so I could just start over.)

I researched solutions and errors on the "docs" page.

I searched the board for similar problems but did not see a solution.

I created the "test" user. User: test Password: test

I also checked my permissions (A, albums, edit, userpics, arjuna, chris hawken all set to 777) and modified the settings in the maintenance section to "debug" mode. I also made sure the file setting was to "1", the URI to "0" and the number of boxes to "fixed". So I think I have completed all the necessary steps to getting help. Well, except for the magic word. Please.

Why does everyone have to be so sarcastic and crappy to users here who need help? I spent an hour searching for a solution to the issue before asking for help. And I primarily did that because I noticed the majority of responses from the "supporters" to other users were almost mean or uncalled for.

FYI - I most certainly DID do a search, as per the doc rules, for an error like mine. Yes, there are several situations "almost" like mine, but no one seemed to have the exact same, or very similar problem. I tried a few of the suggestions, but 99% of them didn't apply to my issue.

Also, I read the entire article about permissions, of which I did have some knowledge of so it was easy for me to understand. I immediately thought it would be the correct fix, but I changed the permissions according to the help article without any result. I mentioned that in my first post.

But don't worry about it. I will try another forum where I and others are not treated rudely, especially when I tried to follow every rule to the "T". Guess I'm not perfect, but then again, neither are you, obviously.
