Have been using same password and id for last 3 years. Use it with WP as well.

Today, I can't log in. Message: Couldn't log in. Try again.

I'm the Admin and the only user. Have not made any changes to Coppermine since the upgrade to 1.4.19 months ago.

Site does not show any signs of hacking.

Have tried all the remedies I could find on this board: adminpass.php, clearing cache, cookies, trying different browsers, even different computers.

Nothing works.

Thanks for any help.

Help us helping you: do as board rules suggest. You're not very helpfull at all - even during registration you try to be a smart-ass by claiming that you're from antarctica, although you're not. There is even a reason why we ask for the country you come from. Ignoring common sense and board rules is not very helpfull if you want hour help.

I would suggest taking the gallery offlline,  changing the config to non encrypted passwords, editing the user table of the database.
Check your entry, make sure it matches what you expect, change username and password, re-enable encryped passwords, start gallery.

It's worked for me in the past.

Turning encrypted passwords from yes to no won't unencrypt the existing passwords. I can not recommend doing as Deus suggested. Do as I suggested and post a link to your gallery for a start. There's a load of reasons why we need to see your gallery. I'm not ready to explain all of the possible reasons - just do as suggested.

Let me first just apologize for the admins rudeness gunther, I found him to be an ignorant ass as well.

I had the same problem and was able to retrieve my password through phpmyadmin. Browse your xxx_users table in your coppermine db.

Find this line:
1 - 1 - YES - *Your Username*  *Your hash number*

Make sure it is user ID #1.

Copy your hash number and go here:
http://www.hashmash.com/

Click decrypt and paste in your hash.

If it can't find your pass than go through this list:
http://md5.paniert.org/md5/page1.php

As an alternative simple google the hash. Eventually you will find something that has the decrypted version. That is your login pass.

The Username is the name to the left of the hash in phpmyadmin.

Then, login :]

End.

I hoped this helped and again sorry for the admin rudeness. I am sure he does not represent the forum here in any way.

Is there really any need for personnal attacks? I suggest reviewing your attitude.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I really do not appreciate being sent a arrogant email especially as you went to the effort of going through my website ::). Please do not expect any help from me in future.

GCSkye is banned. Farewell. Locking.
Rainbow table lookups won't help in all cases, but in most.
