Hi

I just upgrade from 1.4.3 to 1.4.21. The upgrade was successful but my gallery gives the follwoing error message:

Fatal error: Call to a member function authenticate() on a non-object in /......................../gallery/include/init.inc.php on line 279

I deleted and re-uploaded the init.inc.php file, but it did not work.

Please help.

Thanks

I just upgrade from 1.4.3
The Dev team doesn't get to that version yet.  ::) Do you meant '1.4.13' right?

Be sure that you have uploaded all the files. If the issue doesn't get fixed, come back and post a link for start.

Sorry about the typo:)

My website is http://photos.raniasplace.com/gallery/

One more thing, I did not replace the Themes directory this time, do you think that may be causing problem?

Thanks for your help.

Joachim Müller

Upgrade exactly as suggested in the docs, replacing all files and folders except the ones that we explicitely advice not to replace. In fact, replace everything except anycontent.php
The error message you got probably means that you haven't replaced all files.

@Fabricio: there used to be a version cpg1.4.3 as well (back in 2005). It's pretty old, but existed. See changelog

Yes... I thought after posting that instead of a typo could be possible that he was running a very outdated gallery. According to what he said it was a typo... who knows. Maybe the right version he has was indeed 1.4.3. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think I need to explain about the version:)

I first installed the coppermine gallery years ago through the automatic install of my OPS panel. Not sure what the version was but my OPS panel remembers it as v.1.4.3.  I saw that in my OPS panel the other day and I guess that stayed in my mind.

After the first install, whenever I upgraded, I did it manually, without involving the automatic install.

My coppermine database crashed around september, 2007 and I had to manually re-install the whole thing again. At that time the new version release was 1.4.13. So the current version that I deleted before this failed upgrade was 1.4.13.

In any case I suppose I will have go through the process all over again.

Thanks.

I re-uploaded everything and updated, everything worked fine this time.

Thanks for your help.
