My userpics folder is a mess, I intend to put the images in a folder accordingly.

How do I keep my gallery back end updated as I move the images? Is folders even allowed in the userpics folder?

Casper

Just leave it alone.  There is no need for you to touch this folder, as it is controled by cpg and the database.  if you move things about, you WILL break it.

No, the only folders that should be in there are ones created by coppermine, and will be named 10001 etc.

If you want to ftp pics, you should create the folders for them in the albums folder, but not in the userpics folder.

In version 1.3, you cannot see the userpics folder when using the batch upload, so things will be easier.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Hmm ok but it if put a folder in a folder in the same level of userpics folder. Would it still be oK? ???

Joachim Müller

don't know what you mean exactly. ???
You're encouraged to create folders and sub-folders within coppermine's albums folder and ftp-upload your stuff there from now on, but you should leave the existing userpics folder alone.
