CPG version: 1.4.23
Integrated with IPB 2.3.4
Browser: Google Chrome 2.0.172.33

I have two different CPG 1.4.23 galleries installed, both bridged with IPB 2.3.4. Both have always worked fine, but about a week ago one of them quit showing the gallery admin options (as if I'm a regular user), even though I'm logged in as the root admin---this only happens in Google Chrome, in Firefox and IE 8 the admin options show up as normal. Nothing was changed---no skin template changes, no upgrades to CPG, IPB, or my browser. The admin options just randomly stopped appearing. My other gallery still works fine though.

Any idea what's wrong? I think it must have something to do with the way Google Chrome is storing the cookie/session, or something--it obviously recognizes me as being logged in, and it works fine in other browsers. It's strange though, since my other gallery still works fine and only one was affected.

Page/menus/etc. looked the same from here using    FF3.5  +   Chrome 2.0.172.33  with the account you provided.

Are you sure of your version?

CPG version: 1.4.23

The page: http://www.metcoverart.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=5&pos=0
showed in the page source as this:
Quote<!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.20 (stable)-->

If that is truly your revision level, then you should get version  cpg1.4.25 installed as soon as possible

Confirmed. You version indeed is 1.4.20 according to sql file.

Please, update following the step provided by the Docs and do not forget to run update.php after uploading all the files needed.

I had applied several updates manually by edits, as I have some modifications in my gallery, so I think it was at 1.4.23.

However, I've went ahead and upgraded to the latest version, 1.4.25. That didn't fix my problem though.

Right, it does appear fine if you're a regular user--but I'm an admin. That's the problem--instead of seeing admin menus (like the album edit buttons and other links/buttons) it's like I'm a regular user and not an admin. I've already checked to be certain I'm logged in correctly, and as I said no changes had been made to the gallery, its theme, or my bridged forum when this first occurred. I visited my gallery and there simply were no admin options. It always worked fine before, and I've been using CPG since 2004.

I can send login details to a test admin account via PM.

I just tried creating a test admin account for myself and found that it had the same problem, just like my root account.

However, one of my other admins logged in fine and doesn't have this problem.

I think this problem is definitely specific to my Google Chrome browser--as I mentioned, I still have admin options when using other browsers.

Nevermind. Somehow it got put into user mode and I didn't know, and I didn't notice the link back to "Admin Mode." :-[

Bah...
