The 'include' directory (located in the directory where you uploaded Coppermine) should be writable in order to save your configuration. Use your FTP program to change its mode to 777.

The 'albums' directory (located in the directory where you uploaded Coppermine) should be writable in order to allow pictures upload. Use your FTP program to change its mode to 777.

The 'userpics' directory (located in the 'albums' directory on your server) should be writable in order to allow pictures upload. Use your FTP program to change its mode to 777.

How do you do this?

Casper

Usually, you do it with your ftp program.  Open up your site, and right click on the folders/files you need to change.
Most ftp programs will then bring up a menu, similar to windows right click menu.  Find 'chmod' or properties, and click on that.  You should be able to change the chmod settings there.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Kris

okay but now this came up:

mySQL Error: Table 'albums' already exists

Casper

Have you already got a gallery on the database, or have you tried to install before?

Casper

Have you tried to logon to the index.php since trying to install?

If you cannot, try deleting your cpg tables, and try again.

Everything is going great but one more problem... bad thumbnail quality. What do you suggest I do?

Casper

Search the board, and if you can't find the answer(hint, usually to do with incorrect setup in config, wrong GD etc) then post on a new thread, as we have a 1 topic per thread policy.
