Kitt1977,

One of the requirements to being a tester is to show that you are able. Posting a link to a gallery that is extremely far behind such as one of yours is not a good start really. It shows that you have not read the initial post by Joachim stating what you should and should not do.

Coppermine version: 1.4.14 - http://pictures.partyghost.be/

I suggest you upgrade that site as a matter of urgency.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

You are right idd , the reason it is not yet updated it because i set it up for a friend a while ago and there are some mods done  by someone else . ( bad example to post here i agree )
The other one is my personal and as you can see it's up to date ..

I would also like to apply to be a cpg1.5.1 alpha tester.

I have been using Coppermine for 4 years. I wasn't much active here in the forum, as I was satisfied with what Coppermine has got for me. Recently I had a server problem. I lost few of my files, including some Coppermine themes I modified. Currently, my galleries are in a temporary server. You can check that at:
1) http://bizzard.info/Cool-Works/comrades/album/
2) http://bizzard.info/Cool-Works/flipperz/gallery/
I'll soon move them and they would be available at http://comrades.pxq.in/album/ and http://flipperz.pxq.in/gallery/ respectively.

I have my personal gallery too on Coppermine, with a theme modified by me, but uses 1.4.19 as I am not bothered much about it. Its located at http://www.tvmanukrishnan.co.cc/gallery/

I am a engineering student and I am interested to check out and test the new features which might include AJAX and all. I love coding and hope being a tester will help me too in my career.

@bizzard: it usually helps to at least read the initial posting in a thread
Quote from: Joachim Müller on July 28, 2009, 10:08:38 AMA method to make dead sure that you will not be picked as a tester is if you are running an outdated version of Coppermine on your webspace and you're posting a link to it on this thread.
So no: no tester status for you, sorry. Nor will there be tester status for anyone else who will do the same thing and refer to a sample for previous activities that is outdated. This has been explained often enough on this thread already (in the replies #5, 9, 10, 11 and 22).

@all: please do not bother to even reply to this thread if all you can come up with is a link to an outdated coppermine install. This is not a support thread.

I'll help test, I'm laid off from work right now so have some spare time, I dont know a thing, but I do have a coopermine site.

@ Joachim Müller
I have two of my galleries running the latest coppermine. Check them in their new location:

1) http://flipperz.pxq.in/gallery/
2) http://comrades.pxq.in/album/

I think you haven't checked my galleries and replied just by seeing the old version number in my post. I am not using my personal gallery now a days and in search of something very simple. I referred to that just to show that I could edit/create themes for coppermine.

Select me if you feel my explanation is sufficient.

With regards,
Tvm.

I would be happy to be considered as a cpg1.5.1 alpha tester based on the following.

- Maintaining public Coppermine installations
   - http://decoratingdesktop.com (***not suitable at work)

I always upgrade to the latest version at once. I am skilled with PHP, Java etc.

Best Regards

skmdd,

Well I tried to visit your site but as it turned into a pop-up advertising frenzy I gave up. I did manage to glean you are using <!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.24 (stable)-->, possibly, but it was too painfull to stay around and check for sure.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

mattbta

I would like to test.

I'm skilled in php/mysql in addition to java/oracle/db2/netezza.  My professional life consists of business intelligence consulting developing reports and data warehouses as well as customizing the UI through vendor SDK's.

I've run the SVN for a while to tinker/test with.  Five years of running CPG.

You might want to update those before someone with any pull verifies :-)

This isn't rocket science. The Dev Team has a few very simple requirements. One of them is having an UP-TO-DATE gallery. Why is this so overlooked?

Joachim Müller

This thread is running exactly as I was afraid that it would run: 70 % of all those who reply here haven't even bothered to read the initial announcement posting, nor have they bothered to at least skim the thread, which is just frustrating, because they do not qualify as potential alpha tester, but just as jerks.

So let's alter the rules a bit: from now on, I will instantly ban those who post in this thread with a reference to an outdated gallery (and anything older than cpg1.4.25 is an outdated gallery right now) or a gallery that shows more than 20 errors in the HTML validator of the W3C. The ban will be permanent and the posting in this thread will remain. Additionally, they will be humiliated as much as possible, which is intended.

Warning: do not reply to this thread unless you have read and understood it.

And we also should remove without notice all the unnecesary post  from now on. This topic is cluttered by no-tester and it's senseless to have those replies here.
