download link for only m4v files?

I am trying to figure out how to add a download link just for m4v files, if this is possible, any suggestions welcome.

Use one of the existing mods or plugins that give you an extra download link for particular files (e.g. videos) and modify it to suit your needs. If you need details, post details. Hint: board rules!

i looked at the plugins, but nibbler had stated it was not secure on last post so i assumed it was not safe?

I have no idea what you're refering to. There are tens of thousands of postings. I have no idea which one of Nibbler's 19K postings you refer to.

Again: do as board rules suggest: someone with a post count as high as yours should know that. We expect you to respect board even more than we expect complete newbies to respect those rules.

can you state which rule i broke because i have no idea which one you are talking about!!!

i Have only posted 50 posts this does not make me an expert, if you are referring to me operating a search then yes i did search and did not come up with the results, the search terms i used are "download link" and "download movies" and "download certain types of files"

i want to add extra videos to my gallery for download, but do not want all files downloaded, not being a scripter and have very little knowledge of php i am lost,

When posting a support request, it's helpfull for supporters in most cases to see what the actual page looks like, that's why it's mandatory that you always post a link to your coppermine gallery page when asking for support. If your site contains adult content, make sure to post a warning together with your link!

Supporters might get into issues if they accidentally visit a page that interferes with their employer's internet policy. If your site contains adult content (even mild nudity even falls into this category), post the words "not safe for work" next to the link.

Do you know the meaning of the word "mandatory"?

yes i do, however this is impossible to do as the gallery is in a secure area and would require a password to enter, this i am not willing to post to the whole world!!!

Maybe you should allow for this in the rules, rather than being so black and white, as there are grey bits in real life!!

I'm not ready to argue with you about support policies. It's my decision who I'm willing to support. You didn't have a good start in this thread, and the thread continued from bad to worse, so the answer I posted initially still is valid: use one of the existing plugins or mods and modify it as you see fit. I'm out of this thread.

I suggest you request this in the freelancers board and pay someone to do the job. Modifying these files to do what you require will take time and effort. At the moment I am struggling to even answer all my emails let alone look at mods I have never used and then customizing them to fit your needs. I am guessing that as nobody has replied they are in a similar boat.
