selecting "english"

I have 1.4.24 and have installed the Modpack.
I cant see any of the alterations in config [although I'm sure the mods are made] so I'm assuming [from reading posts here] it is because I have "english_gb" selected.

But when I select "english" and save the changes it always defaults back to GB ?
Other changes in config do take effect.

What am I doing wrong?

The gallery isnt populated yet and I am the only member.

..................now that i've read FAQ again I have sloved it !

Do I leave Character encoding as Default or change it back ?
