even though the option "Show private album Icon to unlogged user" is set to ON
Is it just my own problem?

Casper

No, it's happening to me as well.  Looks like you've found a bug.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Filigree

Hmm.  I also have this enabled, and although there are no Private Icons being shown, the gallery is still restricting access to non users.  It only shows Category headings and their icons, I actually like this much better.

Casper

Yes, the permissions are being respected, so there's no pic security problem to worry about.

Missed that one. I get to it in about 10 hours, unless someone else fixes it first.

I suggest using conditions to show the thumbs, but zero out the pic count, since  they're restricted.
(Is this acceptable? @ team)

Nevermind. I'll just fix that part of the code, so the thumbnail will show.

has this fix already be done and where can i find it?

Go look in the /stable branch of the WebCVS.  You get to it via Project>Browse CVS.
"Then, Fletch," that bright creature said to him, and the voice was very kind, "let's begin with level flight . . . ."

I think there may be some confusion here.
The private icon issue is not yet fixed, that is, if config setting 'show private album icon to unlogged user' is set to yes, the private albums are still invisible, no icon shown.

Chris was going to fix that I presume - the said code was most likely removed in version 1.35... I wont get time for atleast 5 more hours

I thought this whas fixed in this tread. It seems that somthing is mixed up in v1.3 Stable as corrected bugs seem to be back in this release.

This is only apparently the same problem but the cause is very different.

@DA, the problem you are pointing at was a bridge issue.
This current one affects all users, not just bridged installs.

Fixed.  :)
stable: 1.7 (doing devel now)

This didn't fix the problem in this thread: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=6622.0
The fix for this thread resurfaced this issue in the thread you linked to.
