Show first level album thumbnails in categories

I tried enabling this but the option doesn't seem to work for my theme. The thing is, I switched back to the Curve theme and it does work on that theme. I completely emptied my themes.php file, same issue, doesn't work with my theme. I can't figure out what I'm missing.

Sorry, realised I was looking in the wrong themes file.
