Cannot un-watermark 4 files of 40

Having a terrible time with just 4 of the files in the album at

Images 2 - 5 of 40 have a watermark and I cannot get rid of it.

Earlier today I watermarked all 40 images in that album then later tried to remove it.  It's not working.
I tried deleting all of the files and uploading fresh images.  Those 4 still have watermarks.
I opened my originals from my harddrive and there is no watermark on them.
I used FTP to delete the original file and normal file from userpics/10001/.  ReUploaded, updated thumbs and the resized photos and those 4 files still have a watermark

Over the course of this I've tried using 2 different browsers and cleared my cache / temporary internet files a few times.  Watermarks are still there when I refresh.

What am I doing wrong?

Looking at your gallery, the thumbnail and full sized images have no watermark. It only appears on the intermediate (normal) image.
These are in userpics directory per your post. Do you have admin access? I assume you have watermarking turned off for now..

If so, go to 'Admin Tools', select 'Update thumbs and/or resized photos', then 'Only resized pictures'.
Select the album at the bottom of page, and submit...

The intermediate images will be rebuilt, and your watermarks should be gone...
