hi,

when i try to send an ecard, it says "invalid email address" for the sender email... but it doesn't even give me the option to enter an email address. i figured that the email address being used is from my login, however my email is correct. i don't understand why it won't send my ecard.

please help,
thanks!

Hi,

Possible your loginname is your e-mailadres ???

I think the Coppermine, gets it from the profile's. Do u specified in your profile a valid e-mailadres ?

This was a bug in version 1.3.0, which only affected the admin and any user the admin created without filling in the email field.

This has been fixed, and is in the latest version.  Please update.  If you have the latest version, please report back here.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

I saw  previous thread that the way around this (besides possibly upgrading) is to set yourself up with another admin account (other than the one you used to install/administer) and then send ecards from there. I got the same error initially, set up a different admin account and it worked fine. Just a suggestion if you cannot upgrade.

There are no differences between cpg1.3.0 and cpg1.3.1 in functionality, cpg1.3.1 contains only bugfixes. I can see no reason why anyone should be unable to upgrade.

One reason would be if their host will not let them.  My host provides CPG with Fantastico and the install was done that way.  Not all users of CPG are advanced users/techies. Some just use the installs provided by their hosts and may not know how to upgrade themselves.

So how do you upload files to your webspace.  Just upload the coppermine files the same way, overwriting the old ons.

Fantastico coppermine is not the same thing as the coppermine version we (the "original") provide, the fantastico build is known to cause several problems and is not up to date. We recommend not using the fantastico build at all, or get rid of it if you already use it.
Webhosts that won't let users upload files by ftp aren't even worth considering suing if you want interactive, dynamic content. Only very newbies that want a "Hello world" homepage should use crippled webspace that doesn't allow ftp access imo.

Thanks for the info.

Have not had any problems at all (yet) with the build my host provided (1.3.0)  but if I do, I will see about upgrading (or changing apps completely...recall I am interested in straight ecard application and you replied to another post of mine that CPG is not meant to be that).

Fortunately for me, I am able to FTP to my host. I was just commenting on others that might not be able to (or know how to)
