Hi,

I want to allow members of a certain group the ability to create and upload to albums other than their user albums.

Is this possible?

Thanks, and a great tool guys :)

Casper

create albums in main categories, no, only admin can do this.

upload to albums in main categories, yes.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

Hi,

I have installed CPG and it seems awesome!!
However, I do not want registred users to be to create/delete various categories, so I have as the admin of the gallery created different categories.
When a registred user logs in, and creates an album he/she cannot choose which category this belongs to - it always ends up in the User gallery category, which I rather liked not to be shown at all.

How can it be possible for registred users, to create albums in the already created categories / sub-categories ?

Hope anybody can help med :-)

Regards,
Dennis

Alright, but registered users still can't post images in public albums already created...

If I make the user an Administrator then he can post images in the public albums.

I am not quite sure what's wrong.

The album can be found at http://jcr.chu.cam.ac.uk/photoalbum. It is currently in development.

Thanks

1) Can upload pictures needs to be set to YES for regged users in groups page.

2) Album property 'Visitors can upload pictures' needs to be set to yes.

I have similar question.
Is there a possibilty that registered users can upload pictures in a specified album (not their own one).
I only see the possibilty that I can declare albumbs in which visitors can upload pictures, but i want to do that with registered users.

thanks.

visitor = anyone who visits the album, it does not imply an anonymous or unregged user.

But he dont want that Visitors (not registered folks) can upload pics, he want that only registered people can upload in albums in main categories like casper said:

Quoteupload to albums in main categories, yes.

how does that goes?

edt: now i know it.
thanks

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Thats right. Thanks a lot for that simple answer. If i knew that earlier I would have saved a lot of time....

But its written badly. A visitor is in my eyes only someone who is "visiting" the gallery, not actually using/building it.

but anyways, helped me a lot.

:D :D :D *so happy*

Merged these 2 topics dealing with the same thing.

This is a language thing.  The term 'visitors can upload' means visitors who are members of groups with upload permissions only, NOT all visitors.  This is set in the groups admin page.

So an unregistered viewer cannot upload, unless the permission for that group has been changed.

The wording is being clarified in the next version.

I want to enable visitors to be able to upload also, but I can't seem to find the setting for it.  Under
users" I have a guests group, but these are people not registered yet (integrated with IPB).  any ideas?

Joachim Müller

you should have a "registered" group as well in "groups"-manager (in admin menu).
