Google Image Search Indexing Not Happening – Why?

Okay – I've read the documentation, searched and read these forums and others, and I'm still stumped. 

Google (and the other search engines) is/are indexing both sites below for pages, both on the main Mambo portions and the picture gallery pages.

Google images is showing some images from the old main (non-Mambo) version of the AeroSpaceNews.com site.

Needless to say, I want a search of Google images to pull up thumbs of every image in my Coppermine galleries. But I've had zero luck so far.

Am I missing something? Is there a permissions problem? A hidden or missing meta tag?

Did I fail to burn incense? Light a candle?

The AeroSpaceNews.com domain is a PR 5 site I've run since '97 – no sandbox or blacklist there. And the stats show the bots (all of them – googlebot, the AdSense bot, and image bot too) are coming. But no results!

I've even written to Google. Here is their response:

Yah, that's right, nothing. Silence. 

These are stand-alone 1.3x versions.

I have no idea - I couldn't find anything on your page that should keep google from indexing. Just posting to let you know that your thread is being read - I understand that you don't find my reply very helpful though. Sorry.

If you can't find anything wrong, I doubt if anyone can. Hmmmm. Maybe it's just the Google database?

Your post was appreciated - and the look-see.

I was a bit worried it had to do with the moving links to the images when new albums and images are added. Or perhaps I misunderstood that issue?

I just thought I'd throw my two cents in here - it seems like GIS isn't picking up gallery websites much at all. Check out this thread for some more info - http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=18127.0 - but basically, it almost seems like Google wants a good title in the ALT tag (in my opinion at least) on the displayimage page. I'm going to tinker and get back to you folks, but I'm betting this will help somewhat.

Update: This may have been a google database update or sandbox issue.

Now, many of the images are in the GIS and traffic is coming in from those searches.
