Click http://www.david-keenan.com/thumbnails.php?album=39 for an example.

If Javascript in Firefox is enabled, I cannot enter text into this password field. This has been reported by several users as well so it is not machine specific.

If I disable Javascript, the password (and all text fields in admin mode) work okay.

This problem does not appear at all when using IE.

Upgrade - you're using cpg1.4.8, while the most recent stable release is currently cpg1.4.10. We're reluctant to look into things that may be caused by using outdated versions.

Nibbler

This is caused by adding poorly coded anti-right-click scripts. Remove it and your problem will go away.

Is there such a thing a "well coded anti-right-click scripts". I want this functionality on my site.

>Upgrade - you're using cpg1.4.8

Yes, I am -- but upgrading is not an option.

No Right-Click scripts are silly in the first place though. We're aware that there are many users who want it, but you should really take your time and read why no-right-click doesn't make sense.

Can't see why: as Stramm suggested, it's mandatory to upgrade for security reasons. Your coppermine gallery doesn't seem to be heavily modified in terms of core functionality, so this is just laziness imo.

Okay, okay.

I'm not convinced that disabling right-clicks is as dumb an idea as y'all say it is -- I mean, yes, there are ways around it. There are ways around just about everything if you're smart enough. My goal was to protect against the casual abuser, not the determined hacker.

But now I want to remove it and replace it with the "overlay.gif" solution.

But the embarrassing part is that I have long since forgotten where this "disable right-click" code was inserted. No amount of text searching has revealed where this code might be hiding. Maybe my local copy doesn't match the server...

Can someone smarter then me tell where to look... *blush*

Nibbler -- Thanks for the lightning response. Right-click re-enabled -- and "overlay.gif" working fine.

Now to consider the upgrade suggestion... I fear that I have 'hacked" enough of the original theme code that an upgrade would be a VERY painful process. I don't think that it is fair to call this "laziness". It just comes down to a matter of time and priorities.

But thanks again to all for your assistance.

Joachim Müller

Your custom theme isn't affected by upgrading if you're doing exactly as suggested in the upgrading docs. That's why there is a theme system that allows you to modify stuff without hacking the core files.
Your initial issue is solved. We have a strict "one question per thread" policy. Marking thread as "solved". Start a new one if you have issues upgrading.
